Culls/ Low Grades/ Wild Types
Here at H&K aquatics, we do not kill our culls. Instead we have them right here for you to purchase at a low price. After all, a shrimp is still a shrimp regardless of colour. We hope you can find it in your heart to look past imperfection and embrace our culls/ low grades & wild types.
Wild color Neocaridina shrimp, or "neos," are found in natural habitats, not bred in captivity. They thrive in freshwater environments like rivers and streams. Known for their diverse genetics, they adapt well to environmental changes and are a key food source for freshwater species. Shrimp enthusiasts appreciate their natural beauty, and researchers gain insights into freshwater biology and ecology from them.
Low grade Neo shrimp, or Neocaridina shrimp, are popular for their hardiness and vibrant colors. They’re easy to care for, perfect for beginners. "Low grade" means less intense or uniform colors, but they still liven up aquariums. Despite lower grading, they show colors like red, blue, or yellow and help by eating algae. They’re also a budget-friendly option for breeding experiments and improving future generations.
