H&K Aquatics began as a small passion project built around a shared love for freshwater shrimp and the fascinating world of aquatics.
💙 H&K stands for Holly & Kate — originally a mother-and-daughter team who started the journey together with a simple goal: to breed healthy shrimp and share the joy of the hobby with others.
Over time, life evolved and Kate has since retired from the project. Today, the day-to-day running of H&K Aquatics is managed by Holly, balancing the business alongside family life, a busy household, and the many demands that come with raising children while maintaining multiple aquariums and breeding tanks.
What began as a small idea has gradually grown into something much bigger. Through dedication, learning, and a genuine passion for shrimp keeping, H&K Aquatics has developed into a trusted source for healthy, carefully bred shrimp for hobbyists across the UK.
We focus on maintaining strong, healthy lines of shrimp and ensuring every order is packed with the same level of care we would expect ourselves as hobbyists. Each order is prepared by hand, with careful attention to water quality, temperature stability, and safe transport so your shrimp arrive in the best possible condition.
While we may not be a large commercial operation (yet!), what sets H&K Aquatics apart is the personal attention we give to both our shrimp and our customers. We believe the shrimp keeping community thrives when hobbyists share knowledge, support one another, and help new keepers succeed.
This website was created to provide a dedicated space where we can connect directly with fellow shrimp keepers, share what we breed, and make it easier for enthusiasts to access healthy stock without relying on large commercial sellers.
