Yellow Gold Back shrimp are a striking variety of Neocaridina, admired for their bright yellow colouration and distinctive golden dorsal stripe that runs along the length of their back. This shimmering “gold back” marking contrasts beautifully against their vibrant yellow body, creating a shrimp that stands out brilliantly in planted aquariums.

Under aquarium lighting the golden stripe can appear almost metallic, catching the light as the shrimp move through plants and across décor. Each individual may show slight variation in colour intensity and stripe definition, giving colonies a natural and interesting mix while maintaining the classic Gold Back appearance.

Peaceful and constantly active, Yellow Gold Back shrimp spend their time grazing on biofilm and algae throughout the aquarium. In a mature tank they quickly become an engaging part of the ecosystem while also contributing to natural tank maintenance.
