Crystal Red Caridina

Crystal Red Shrimp are one of the most iconic and sought-after shrimp in the aquarium hobby. Their vivid red and bright white banding creates a striking contrast that stands out beautifully in planted aquariums, moss forests, and natural aquascapes. Developed through selective breeding of Caridina cantonensis, Crystal Reds are prized by shrimp keepers for both their elegance and the fascinating variety of patterns they produce.

These shrimp thrive best in soft, slightly acidic water and well-established aquariums where biofilm and natural grazing surfaces are plentiful. Mosses, fine plants, and leaf litter help provide the perfect environment for them to feel secure and display their natural behaviour. Like all shrimp, they spend most of their time gently grazing on microorganisms and leftover food throughout the tank.

Crystal Reds are peaceful, active, and endlessly interesting to observe.
