Their colour can range from pale frost-blue and pearl white to deep electric sapphire shades, making every colony beautifully unique.

Peaceful and constantly grazing, Blue Bolts add a soft, elegant contrast to planted aquariums, especially against dark substrate, moss, and natural wood. Their delicate appearance gives them a truly high-end, luxury feel within any Caridina setup.

Blue Bolts thrive best in mature soft-water aquariums with stable parameters and plenty of biofilm-rich surfaces to explore.

Blue Bolt Caridina

The Blue Bolt Caridina is a striking freshwater shrimp sought after by aquarium enthusiasts for its vibrant colouration and unique appearance. This variety of Caridina shrimp is notable for its captivating blue hue, which can range from a subtle pastel to a deep, electric shade, often with a marbled or bolt-like pattern running across its body. Native to Southeast Asia, these shrimp thrive in well-maintained aquariums with stable water parameters, as they are sensitive to changes in water quality. They prefer a pH level between 6.0 and 6.8 and a temperature range of 68°F to 74°F (20°C to 23°C). Blue Bolts are peaceful creatures, making them excellent additions to a community tank with other non-aggressive species. These shrimp contribute to the ecosystem by feeding on algae and detritus, helping to keep the tank clean. Their stunning appearance and beneficial role in an aquarium make Blue Bolt Caridina a favourite among hobbyists looking to add a splash of colour and life to their aquatic setups.
