Snowball Cherry Shrimp

Snowball shrimp are a beautiful and distinctive variety of Neocaridina, admired for their soft white colouration and the unique appearance of their eggs. Their bodies display a pale, frosted tone that can range from translucent white to a milky pearl shade, giving them a subtle elegance in planted aquariums.

One of the most fascinating features of Snowball shrimp is their eggs, which appear bright white when females become berried. This unusual trait gives the variety its name, as the eggs resemble tiny snowballs carried beneath the shrimp.

Snowball shrimp are peaceful, active, and constantly grazing, spending their time exploring plants, mosses, and décor in search of biofilm and algae. In a well-established aquarium they quickly become a lively part of the ecosystem while also helping maintain the natural balance of the tank.

Hardy and adaptable, Snowball shrimp are suitable for both beginner shrimp keepers and experienced hobbyists. In stable conditions they breed readily, and watching berried females carry their distinctive white eggs is one of the most rewarding aspects of keeping this variety.
